We Are Free to Move:
A Celebration of Women in Movement

We invite Tennessee based female artists to submit original works for “We Are Free to Move: A Celebration of Women in Movement”, an art exhibition and auction celebrating women’s strength, freedom, and creative expression.

The online auction will open the week leading up to the event, with all pieces displayed in person in Nashville at a closing celebration on International Women’s Day, Sunday, March 8th at Jackalope Brewery from 1pm to 4pm.

Proceeds from all sales will be shared 50/50 between the artists and Free to Move, supporting women in the arts and safety initiatives and education that help every woman move confidently, without fear.

A Youth Category (Under 18) will also spotlight emerging artists whose voices and visions inspire future generations.

Artists will be selected by jury to be featured in the exhibit.

Artist Prompt: We are Free to Move

“What does it mean to be free to move as a woman in the world today?”

We invite female artists to reflect on the relationship between freedom, movement, and womanhood: in body, mind, and spirit. Your piece might explore physical motion, emotional resilience, personal journeys, or the shared experience of reclaiming space and voice.

Paint, sculpt, photograph, or create what “free to move” means to you.

Our Why

At Free to Move, we believe that movement, in body, in art, in spirit, is a form of freedom. This fundraiser brings that belief to life. We Are Free to Move: A Celebration of Women in Movement invites local women artists to interpret what it means to move freely in the world—without fear, without limits, and with the full expression of who they are.

Each piece of art, each bid, each voice raised in this space fuels our mission: to reclaim public spaces, promote safety and confidence for women, and create a world where every woman can move through her community without fear.

This event doesn’t just raise funds—it raises awareness. It transforms creativity into advocacy, beauty into safety, and art into action for all womankind.
