Free to Move is partnering with Greenways for Nashville, Metropolitan Council and Metro Parks to identify safety gaps throughout the greenways system. Together, our united voices will shape data-driven improvements across Nashville’s green spaces.

From March–October 2026, community members will meet twice per month at greenways across Nashville to document key safety and usability factors, including:

Lighting
Sightlines and visibility
Trail surface conditions
Wayfinding and signage
Emergency access
Security features
Overall accessibility & user experience

We will analyze the collected data to produce clear, actionable, data-driven recommendations that help create safer, more accessible greenways for everyone.
