7 Days. 107 Miles. One powerful event.
Alyssa Lokits was only one mile into her workout on the Mill Creek Greenway when she was attacked and killed in a random act of violence. One year later, we honor Alyssa by reclaiming the space she loved—by doing what she loved: being active outside.

NO ORDINARY RUN
Our jog-a-thon is for everyone who wants to move outside without fear.
The mama pushing her stroller. The little girl racing on her bike. The grandmother who wants to feel the sunshine on her face. The runner who just needs that high.

Throughout the week-long event, we will collectively cross every one of the 107 miles of Nashville's greenways. Go solo or join run clubs and walking groups scheduled throughout the week. If you aren’t local, join virtually and help us put 107 global green spaces on our Free to Move map (more below).
Alyssa wasn’t just a runner. She walked, hiked, biked—anything that kept her moving and connected to the outdoors. Now we’re asking you to do the same. Wherever you are, however you move—run, walk, hike, roll, dance—do what makes you feel empowered and free to move.
Whether you go a mile or all 107, help us send a message to the world that we will move in defiance of fear. Sign up on our RaceRoster page here.
MEMORIAL WALK & DEDICATION EVENT

We will start this meaningful week with the Alyssa Lokits Memorial Walk & Dedication Ceremony, beginning at the Orchard Bend Parking lot of the Mill Creek Greenway in Antioch, on October 12, at noon. Friends, family, community leaders, partners and sponsors will then walk together to the Old Hickory Trailhead to honor Alyssa's life and unending impact with a bench dedication.
There will be a community event to launch the jog-a-thon to follow at Orchard Bend Park with live music, vendors and food trucks.
A GLOBAL MOVEMENT
Our vision goes far beyond Nashville.
In our 5K Run for Alyssa, runners in almost every state in the US and 10 different countries participated.
Help us reach our goal of 107 participating jog-a-thon locations around the world.
Simply note where you’ll be running when you register, and put your beloved green space on the map!
FUNDING A SAFER FUTURE
We want to raise $107,000 with this event to help make our vision of a world where women can move outdoors without fear a reality. How?
Research, advocacy and education—trauma-informed, expert driven and data-supported—freely available to all.
If you supported our first event—the 5K for Alyssa—you helped begin the work. We created a video resource library with real-world safety strategies that will be available to all, across multiple platforms. We want to do so much more!
